About The Owner (By Her Dog Dakota)

I want to introduce you to my human mom, Gaye
Mastrianni. My name is
Dakota, I’m a Keeshond and my mom
adopted me in March 1998, when I was only 4 months old. If I do say so myself.... I was a Very Cute Puppy (and I’m still pretty cute, Mom says so). I have a brother, mom calls him Gizmo the Cat adopted September 2004, I think he’s just a funny looking dog, a baby sister Shelby, adopted July 2006 (she came from Kansas City and her momma was a Katrina rescue), Beemer adopted September 2007 another funny looking dog and Hummer the hedgehog adopted September 2007 - he looks like a big pin cushion so we are very, very careful when we play with him. My mom is very patient and teaches us everything about being well-behaved four legged furry/prickly family members. Of course dad won’t agree, but dads never do. Mom knows a lot about what pets need because she spends a lot of time training and playing with us, she also reads Bark Magazine, Clean Run Agility, and other animal related journals. Let me tell you a little about my mom... she graduated from “people” nursing school about a million years ago and has practiced on people 25 years. Now that she is done practicing on people she has decided to use her skills to take care of your best friends, your pets. Mom has taken courses to teach her about animal CPR and first aid at the American Red Cross. In her free time besides reading mom likes to ski, spend time with her granddaughters, help us take care of dad and is very involved at Schenectady Dog Training Club, my little sister Shelby takes Obedience Classes (which she needs) and Agility Classes (she’s very good at this). This story starts in 2003, when a friend of moms and her pet sitter needed some help giving a very sick little kitty a needle in her arm to give her medicine while her mom was out of town. My mom came home told dad and me that this was what she was meant to do -- Be A Pet Nanny! We love our mom and you will too --- Dakota, Shelby, Gizmo, Beemer and Hummer
